The lack of educational or certification qualifications may prevent those aspiring Investment Consultants from receiving the level of training and advice necessary to be successful at their profession.

It is important to consider that as an Investment Consultant working with a financial services company, an independent consultant working for a client will be required to perform work in a particular manner. An independent consultant performing analysis for a client will need to keep abreast of the investment performance in the markets and how their client is performing along with the client’s own investment performance. Therefore, if the investment consultant is working for a client with a specific strategy, the client may want to have an investment consultant who has that specific strategy or who can recommend additional strategies that may be of assistance to their own goals.
